From Billboard News/Touring article:

"Billy Joel Scores Top Tour with Fenway Sellout, Brings in $3.7M"

Queen + Adam Lambert's "Once In A Lifetime" Tour is the FOURTH top-selling tour this past week with their two sold out Hard Rock The Joint shows on July 5th and 6th!!!

"Fourth in the tally is a two-show engagement in Las Vegas featuring Brian May and Roger Taylor of the iconic band Queen along with new frontman, "American Idol" alum Adam Lambert. Billed as Queen + Adam Lambert, the collaborating rock artists played to sellout crowds on July 5 and 6 at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel. May and Taylor have performed before with a frontman to cover the role of the late Freddie Mercury who died in 1991. Previously they toured with Paul Rodgers formerly of Bad Company beginning in 2005 through 2009. The current tour with Lambert launched on June 19 in Chicago, the first of 22 cities on tap during the North American leg that is booked through late July. Dates will follow in South Korea, Japan and Australia in August and September."

Okay, would you please just let it go.

We have all this wonderful news about Adam and his amazing opportunity to reach millions of people through his association with the legendary band Queen, and all you can do is complain.

I'm sorry but I'm just tired of seeing this same old sarcastic comment over and over again here.

I'm only leaving your comment here to give fair warning..... Otherwise it would be gone.

My apologies to everyone else here.....

@10:40 ... Can't you realize that ADAM is EXTREMELY busy performing/entertaining with QUEEN right now as has been reported by numerous columnists/bloggers/etc.? You don't seriously EXPECT him to be working on his album TOO!! For all we know, ADAM may have completed the album & all it needs is some tweaking to make it more polished & fabulous. PATIENCE if you are a Glambert ... and if you aren't you'll still have to be PATIENT like the rest of us!!

@10:40 AM

Please remember that Adam can do more than one project at a time. He was very fortunate to be summoned by Queen to front their band on this ONCE in a lifetime tour. No entertainer in their right mind would turn down this great endeavor.

Adam is a solo artist, that is why he is able to embark on many of the ventures that he loves to do, and enjoy as an all around entertainer. Adam is not just a one trick pony, so to speak. Being as talented as he is, he has embarked on other ventures such as appearing on a few episodes of Glee. Also, the great Niles Rodgers called Adam Lambert when he needed that great voice to join him on a project for Avicii's album. Adam, as a solo artist, was there to
co-write and put his vocals to LMD; that song is on it's way to being a worldwide hit.

When Brian and Rodger needed a one in a Billion voiced man to fill in a front man to do their music justice, in the vain of their deceased band mate Freddie Mercury, they called Adam. Do you think Adam was going to say no to them, just because he was working on an album and he could not deal with more than one venture at a time? No.

Brian said Adam is one of the main reasons they are taking on this glorious but, what could be a daunting task if all involved didn't just click; not only do they click, they are thrilling audiences at every venue; and leave them clamoring for more. Adam and the whole Queen band are extremely gratified and happy and so are all the fans attending these spectacular events.

Not only is this Queen tour making Adam a household name, but, has already started widening his fan base. It will also go a long way to help secure his financial future. That in turn will help him to become more of an independent artist to further pursue his entertainment endeavors the way he has always dreamed of!

I think the best thing that a fan can do for this wonderful, generous talented man, who seems to love his fans, and lets us know this time and time again, is to support him in every way possible, and enjoy him in the HERE AND NOW! Worry not, the best is yet to come. I think the multi talented Adam Lambert, is just starting to scratch the surface of his many talents. So I say, "look out world, the best of Adam Lambert is yet to come!!

I will end with the wise words of Adam, our Glam One, "be patient little Glam Hoppers".

@glitzylady
I agree that the same old comments are irritating, however I hope you reconsider removing them just because they annoy you. You don't remove the ones you agree with and they are repeated constantly, also.
I hope you don't lower your standards because of one obnoxious poster.

You may or may not have noticed over time that I VERY rarely delete comments, whether they annoy me or not.. It's not about me, and that's not why I'm helping out here.. I don't delete out of spite, just because I may not agree with the comment, etc.. but only because a comment is excessively mean, insulting, an obvious lie, either directed at Adam or to another poster. I'm not vindictive and I don't have a short fuse..

The Administrator of 24/7 strives to maintain an "open" forum, and respectful discussion is always welcome.. But there are times when people just come here to stir up trouble.. (You've probably seen some of the other blogs out there, some full of worse than that..).

In this case, that particular comment keeps popping up time after time after time.. literally for months on end now..

It is always the same, perhaps reworded slightly, but still the intent is clear, as I see it. To discredit Adam. I doubt that it is being posted here in the comment sections of this blog for any other reason than as an implication that Adam is not doing what he "should be doing". Never mind that he is working extremely hard fronting one of most iconic bands of all time, and getting rave reviews for doing it, along with Dr. Brian May and Roger Taylor et al. The implication is that his work with Queen is unimportant. I disagree.

The same comment shows up several times a week on various threads. It is (IMO) sarcastic, frankly insulting to him and is passive aggressive in nature..

Of course I TOTALLY agree that I am looking forward to Adam's new music, when it is ready to be released. Aren't we all????? But the intent (again IMO) is snarky and rude.

Sorry.. I've been ignoring those comments for quite awhile.

My standards are set pretty high when it comes to Adam because he sets his own standards high for himself. His music will be released when he's happy with it.

I'm VERY appreciative of other points of view.. And we can all learn something from them.. There is not a whole lot to be learned from that comment, other than a lesson in "how to be sarcastic".

You will also notice I never delete comments directed to myself, no matter what it is..

Thanks for your comment.. I hope I've clarified my comment at 10:53 AM more for you..

You would lose that bet. As I said I disagree with those snide posts, but I think they have the right to post as long as they are not profane or abusive.

10:40 is just trying to rile us up and has succeeded. The intent is to inflame this site with arguments and generate defensive responses. I believe with glitzylady that this poster is probably the same person who enjoys creating discord. Since it's a repetitive comment with similar wording, it's an ongoing pattern. This person's point has been made over and over. I don't have a problem with telling them that enough is enough.

BTW, I'm still in Detroit(actually Auburn Hills). It's about 9:45 EDT and it has rained, although it's not raining right now. I've been inside at a dinner. I just checked outside and it's warm and humid but it doesn't look like it has rained very hard. Hope they got to do the concert!

I just love reading the positive reviews that Adam and Queen are receiving for this summer concert series. Thhis partnership is the best thing that could have happened for all involved and it gives thousands of people the opportunity to hear some of the most iconic songs in rock history. Adam is amazing, having so much fun and really enjoying himself on stage. Brian and Roger are revitalized, happy and so satisfied with the "new boy". And as far as Adam's new music, he will get to it when the tour is finished and he has relaxed for a while in his new home. Maybe he will have a new insight into what he hopes to accomplish with the third album and the kind of music he wants to record. Whatever it is, I am sure it will be something amazing coming from this vocal powerhouse whose audience connection is pure electricity as we have seen in the Queenbert tour.

The concert is indoors. I did not word that properly. Ignore.

Just came from the concert. It should be #1 !

So what are the top three hot summer concerts if Queenbert is #4? I guess I will have to do some investigating to check it out.

glitzylady said...

@Anon 6:30 AM
The link posted at the bottom of the thread topic, under the excerpt from the article, will take you directly to that information :))

The other three (the TOP money earning concerts for the past WEEK only, not necessarily the top HOT TOURS for the entire summer..) are:

1. Billy Joel at Fenway Park

2. Paul McCartney in San Jose, Costa Rica

3. ??? (Paul McCartney in Albany, NY)..the article was a little unclear about #3..)

4. Queen + Adam Lambert: The two shows in Las Vegas at The Joint, Hard Rock Hotel.

Interesting to note: The other concerts listed were held in very large venues.. The Hard Rock is a much smaller venue, so in spite of that, the revenue from that venue was still quite substantial. No doubt they will continue to be near the top of the Hot Tours weekly talley in the coming weeks.
